The Church from North-West

This is the church as viewed from northwest. On the left side of the picture, you will see the chancel. The entire length is 32 meters, the height of the steeple, with spire, is 36 meters. This steeple dates from 1787; it was the church builder Fredrik Bertelsen Oydegaard in Straumsnes who constructed it.

In the steeple wing, we can still read his initials F.S.B. Of the known steeples, this was the fourth that was erected. Until 1708, the church was roofed in woodenshingles. This roof was replaced with a brick-roof. In 1906, a slated roof was installed and this roof remains until this day. Three bells hang in the steeple; the oldest one was recast in 1705.
