In Catholic times, the walls in the nave have been decorated with paintings on the whitewash which now are difficult to decipher. This painting is located near the pulpit. Over the picture is written: «Riddare St. Jurian – Drekan» (The knight Jurian (George) kills the dragon). The dragon was the symbol of evil. The knight is also a tutelary saint for the scouts.
On the walls, both in the nave and in the chancel, there are signs of consecration – rings with a cross – in memory of the fact that the church was consecrated by the bishop of Nidaros.
