
The pulpit, with it’s overarching canopy, is believed to have been crafted in Holland in 1632. The priest Anders Pedersen, the churchwarden Erik Pedersen (brother of the priest), and the wealthy landowner Erik Audensen from Kvalvaag purchased it. The statues on the pulpit depict Christ and the four evangelists. Both the altar and the statues on the top represent rare church art. An art historian, Bjorn Sandberg, stated in his dissertation to his Master of Art degree that the artist must have been inspired by the Spanish artist El Greco.
