
This chair, which is now placed in the chancel was originally the sexton’s chair. The top, dating from 1701, was originally used on a chair used by the priest’s wife that was placed in the northeast corner of the nave. The letters refer to two priest’s wives (mother and daughter): Halvig Jacobsdatter Mechelborg, married to parson Fredrik Marstrand, and Anna Fredriksdatter Marstrand, married to curate Hans Brejer.
